This artist in a residency program is called “Hier und Jetzt” and it is a program addressing artists in exile currently living in Berlin. The Federal Foreign Office of Berlin in collaboration with galleries of Berlin set up a residency on the roof of the Office building. Künstlerhaus Bethanien runs an artist in residency program that gives artists the possibility to develop a project over a fixed period. The American Academy in Berlin is a private, non-profit center for German-American cultural exchange. Its fellowship program promotes advanced research in a variety of disciplines. Each year the Academy welcomes about two dozen fellows. AGORA Collective – AFFECT program

Berlin Art Institute (BAI)
BAI is an independent place for artistic and advanced training and research. The BAI provides all participants with a workplace, individual supervision, courses, projects, lectures, workshops, visits, and an interdisciplinary discussion forum (whether beginners or professional). The BERLIN ART INSTITUTE makes use of the large number of national and international artists in Berlin and generates its temporary and regular partners from this pool to make a broad and flexible training offer. The program is conducted in English. PICTURE BERLIN
PICTURE BERLIN offers two residency programs per year. The Fall Session is a 10-day professional development opportunity for resident artists to be part of the Berlin scene in a concentrated and focused way through one on one portfolio reviews, artist studio visits, talks given by the residents, and multiple tours through the city which highlight the current pulse of the city. The residency program aims to enhance artists’ careers and their internationality.
The Summer Session is a 7-week hybrid residency/art academy program. The structure supports and facilitates the resident to develop their work, meet artists from the larger PICTURE BERLIN community, have one on one portfolio reviews with Berlin-based curators in addition to the opportunity to show their work in 2 different exhibitions.
Both Sessions also include a 100+ page Handbook/Resource Guide of the city and the program, artist walks, a Gallery Tour, a Project Space Tour, a coaching session, a Curatorial intensive, German lessons and group work reviews with the PICTURE BERLIN team and current residents.

Residency for ceramics
The artist in residency program involves artists who focus their work on ceramics. Artist must have a project focusing on clay or ceramics and are selected by a jury of 5 members. At the end of the stay, artists can present their work at the additional cost of 380€. Nevertheless, a minimum stay of 6 weeks is required. This residency is an opportunity to experiment and work in a new context, and to approach a new culture.

SOMOS
SomoS offers cultivated, supportive, and stimulating surroundings to international visiting professionals wishing to realize an artistic project in Berlin. The residency is focused on production, experience, critical discourse, networking, and local participation. Participants have free access to all general workshops, artist talks, screenings, exhibitions and other regular events taking place at SomoS. They will meet regularly with SomoS’ curators to discuss and review their progress towards completing their project, and receive daily on-site practical support. At the end of the residency, SomoS organizes a presentation of residents’ recent work in a suitable public format.

The Drawing Hub
The Drawing Hub residency is a production/experiment space where artists can meet and work on individual or collaborative projects and ideas.
