Laura Olea Lopez
Laura Olea Lopez (1992, Spain) is a cultural manager with broad experience in exhibition production and artist management. She has worked in different cultural sectors – international art fairs, curating individual exhibitions in galleries and coordination of projects in public and private institutions.
As curator and art theory researcher, she always develops multidisciplinary projects that let her work between borders of art and design, music and environmental installation, light and interactive exhibitions, social sciences, and crafts, among others.

During her residency in Berlin Sessions, she researches independent cultural spaces and art initiatives based in Berlin. The study is focused on management like funding, team, and logistics, but also the history, objectives, and values of the organization. She wants to learn more about these independent projects with the aim of building a net of collaborations and connexions with other projects and artists in Spain.

Laura Olea López has worked with world-known artists like Ernesto Neto, Michelangelo Pistoletto, José Dávila, Alicia Framis, or Pieter Vermeersch in her position as Head of Production in Blueproject Foundation. Also, she has collaborated in international events like Frieze London and LOOP Fair Barcelona, a video art fair.
Happening Three Stages of Change Appreciation by MANS O and Sociedad 0. Commissioned by Whisper Not Agency / March 2019
She has curated different multidisciplinary projects that break the limits of the disciplines and put the viewer in an active position. For example, Three Stages of Change Appreciation was an immersive two-floor event that involves an art installation by Sociedad 0 that contained the new album of MANS O and also a durational performance. In the case of Ida, vuelta e ida, the Italian-Swiss artist Massimiliano Moro created an interactive and experiential exhibition with light as prime material.

Her experience in the culture field also includes the curation of public programs and collaboration in other events like the collective Placa Turca which included exhibitions, performance, seminars, and education programs, but also the Festival The Influencers – supported by Europa Creativa – and the Department of Cultural Activities of Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB).
