Curated by Anja Ibsch and Teena Lange

19.04.2018, 7pm – Performance by John Court

studio im HOCHHAUS
Zingster Strasse 25
13051 Berlin

Facebook event

In the course of this year, Anja Ibsch and Teena Lange invite six artists to the studio im HOCHHAUS whose artistic practice focuses primarily on performance art. Being an artist or not: as humans, we can all distinguish between actions that we perform and actions that we omit. Time, place and intent often play a particular role. Why does it make sense to talk about omitted actions? Not every act has to be self-acting; one can also talk about oneself with a certain distance. Especially if something expected is not performed. What is at the core, what is in_adequate and what is the periphery supposed to be?

There will be individual introductions to the artists and performances, followed by moderated talks. The gallery space could be left peripherally.

Facebook event

Each Sunday The American Memorial Library invites visitors to come participate and initiate, to share their ideas, wishes and interests and to help make the library a public and open place. The concept of these Sundays focuses on interpersonal relationships. Various modules address themes such as participation, independence, responsibility, self-initiative and integration. These topics are the starting point of these Sunday events which are always free to the public. Alongside regular known and experimental formats, lectures, concerts, workshops and a children’s program will take place, as well as a Meeting with the sonntagsbureau during which visitors can give their personal feedback.
