A conversation with Liisa Karintaus

Year
2014

Artist Liisa Karintaus handles images with an iconoclastic interest trying to reach concrete matter. Thinking on the animation of works she collects images from different sources, such as memories, art history, internet, old photographs. In her recent projects, she questions the known image, deconstructs and stretches it, places it a new in the space, searching for surprising connotations and visual nuances. In her art, she surpasses the division on mediums always taking into consideration the spatial picture.
